Dear all

Just to let you know that we have set up a new Facebook account. Check out Feltmakers North Guild.  The previous FB page has been deactivated. Please bear with me while I transfer data etc. In addition, if you are on FB please friend us & you shall receive regular updates and posts.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

PS there are still some places available for the upcoming scarf & vessel workshops. A fabulous opportunity to keep up those felting skills & go home with a completed item 😀. Please contact Gail/Ann - feltmakersnorth@gmail.com.

Just a reminder of our Exhibition at Lisburn City Library. Below is the flyer giving dates & times of our events, please share with friends, family, colleagues etc.

Remember that items being exhibited must be brought along to the library between Thursday 3rd and Friday 5th August.

17th JUNE 2017

Today our new chairperson, Gail welcomed all and reminded everyone of the Exhibition coming up in August. Gail thanked those who have submitted their forms for the exhibition and asks if anyone else would like to exhibit their work that they email a completed form immediately. Further instructions regarding submissions will be issued at a later date.

SHOW & TELL

This framed picture demonstrates the use of embellishing & embroidery
On felt providing texture & depth.
Tina's needle felted sheep with natural wool. So soft to touch.
FELT IN
Our June felt-in was to design and create a pair of fingerless gloves. This was led by Sara and inspired by a previous workshop with Dagmar Binder. It was great to be able to share learnt skills with the whole group.

Sara demonstrates 'seamless seams' to an attentive audience.

A smiley Gail divides & teases out the fibres.
Olwyn concentrating on a complex design with  a combo of wools & silks. Lovely.

Some new faces. Karen plans her design.
Jan from Worthing separates pink fibres to add to  chocolate brown.
Another new face Meadbh enjoying the laying out.
Ann combines beautiful pinks & purples.

Two pairs of hands definitely helps.

Leah concentrating on design.

Although the group worked hard most were not able to complete the gloves but please bring your completed gloves to our September meeting. Thank you Sara for another informative & fun felt-in.

This is our last felt-in as we break for the summer. Hope you all enjoy the holidays & look forward to seeing everyone in September. Keep checking the blog for updates and information.

Can you guess who tweaked the Tunnocks teacake wrapper?

Hi to all my fellow Feltees

Helen here. I would just like to thank Gail for her help this afternoon in getting started on the blog. I am so looking forward to this blogging malarkey for Feltmakers North. See you on Saturday with my camera!

Everything Changes!

Gail's Camomile teapot!

Every season brings changes and here at Feltmakers North we are no exception.  New faces have joined the committee, new events for our calendar, lots of new members and this blogger is handing over to a new face, although one that most of you will recognise from all our pics!!  Helen has been out and about checking out the local sheep - although I'm not quite sure what she was looking for!!  Her first post will tell us about June's Felt-in and it'll be great to have a new blogger on the job!
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
All the best Gail
