17th JUNE 2017

Today our new chairperson, Gail welcomed all and reminded everyone of the Exhibition coming up in August. Gail thanked those who have submitted their forms for the exhibition and asks if anyone else would like to exhibit their work that they email a completed form immediately. Further instructions regarding submissions will be issued at a later date.

SHOW & TELL

On felt providing texture & depth.
Tina's needle felted sheep with natural wool. So soft to touch.
FELT IN
Our June felt-in was to design and create a pair of fingerless gloves. This was led by Sara and inspired by a previous workshop with Dagmar Binder. It was great to be able to share learnt skills with the whole group.

Sara demonstrates 'seamless seams' to an attentive audience.

A smiley Gail divides & teases out the fibres.
Olwyn concentrating on a complex design with  a combo of wools & silks. Lovely.

Some new faces. Karen plans her design.
Jan from Worthing separates pink fibres to add to  chocolate brown.
Another new face Meadbh enjoying the laying out.
Ann combines beautiful pinks & purples.

Two pairs of hands definitely helps.

Leah concentrating on design.

Although the group worked hard most were not able to complete the gloves but please bring your completed gloves to our September meeting. Thank you Sara for another informative & fun felt-in.

This is our last felt-in as we break for the summer. Hope you all enjoy the holidays & look forward to seeing everyone in September. Keep checking the blog for updates and information.

Can you guess who tweaked the Tunnocks teacake wrapper?
