Small Vessel with Sharon

At this month's felt-in Sharon Bell will be showing us how to make a small vessel with a resist.

Using Shetland wool, we will be taken through the process of laying fibres and using embellishments.

Can't wait to see the finished articles!

Lattice workshop 1st June in the Village Centre, Hillsborough.

Saturday gave 8 members a chance to learn how to make a lattice scarf. We were led in this venture by Gail Cooke, our Chair and fabulous Felter and tutor.

After laying out the fibres to Gail's instructions and adding a little embellishment, we spent lots and lots and lots of time rubbing.

 Jean's scarf got in a bit of a pickle as she hadn't checked it and it had started to felt to it's self. Lots of TLC and soapy water and it opened up just fine!

• Silk paper workshop. Please bring any silk fibres, Angelina, and decorative fibres with you to incorporate.
• Bring a plastic bag for your wet end product.

April 2019 Felt In Spikes & Tails with Mandy

The April felt in started with our usual Show and Tell with some fantastic garments and vessels made by our talented members.

Mandy took the Spikes and Tails workshop. She demonstrated how to create spikes and tails and ways of using them in felted pieces of work

Spikes & Tails April Felt-In

We are in the Dining Hall at Hillsborough Primary School this Saturday. 

Mandy will be showing us how to make ‘Spikes and tails’. Please bring your usual felting equipment and, if you have one, a bamboo mat. We will be using short staple fibres. There will be some on sale on the Sales Table.

Felt-In March- Edgings

Our felt-in this Saturday is with Ann, you will need to bring your usual felting equipment. Ann will be demonstrating edgings, straight and fluted edges and cutting straight edges.

There will be lots of lovely fibres to buy at the Sales table. 

 

Member’s Extended felt-in will be in the afternoon for those larger or unfinished items. Don’t forget your lunch.

 

Saturday is your last chance to book a place on the Lattice Scarf workshop, with our own Fabulous Felter Gail. Bring money and form!
