Update!

I am sure by now all the shearing of the sheep is completed, certainly the sheep in the neighbouring fields look a lot cooler these days!

I have updated the workshop and felt in section of the blog and there is a lot of interesting news to be read! We have a full programme up to Christmas and we have already secured our tutor for our residential which is in June next year! Can you imagine a two day felting workshop, on the north coast at Portballintrae, sounds like heaven! This time we are making a hat and Jeanette Sendler is the tutor, she is also a Millner, so that is an added bonus!

Enjoy the rest of the summer and lets hope it warms up a bit! Looking forward to seeing you all in September!

The second workshop with Nicola Brown was just as much fun as the first, and we all learnt even more! The topic was either a vessel or a clutch bag, using a resist!
The morning started with good clear instruction and advice on how to set about our piece. There were a variety of ideas, with vessels of various shapes being discussed.
This is the fibre being laid out for a small clutch bag!
Diane working on her vessel using layers black and white wool!
Dympna and Deirdre working hard!
Dympna's bag.
Diane's Vessel Finished.
Another vessel ready to have the resist removed!
Here it is finished, and looking great!
This photo shows the shrinkage, may be less than you would think!
Very happy Feltmakers North girls after two glorious days of felting!
It was a terrific experience having Nicola Brown up north to share with us  her knowledge and enthusiasm!

Our next Felt in is in September when we will be making a friendship blanket to help The Simon Community, in Lisburn, we hope you will all come along. If you have never felted before this is an ideal opportunity to learn as the felt in will be taught on two levels, beginners and intermediate for those who have felted before!

Have a lovely summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in September, keep checking the blog as we have some very exciting workshops planned for the rest of 2014!
Thank you to Gail Cooke and Dympna Curran for taking photos for me, during the workshop, it was a big help to me!!
